Every week we have regular get togethers at the Library.  Here are a few:

Mondays 10:30 AM to 12 Noon - Cafe Philo.

The men discuss different ideas over coffee.

Tuesdays at 1 PM – Koffee Klatch.

      An Informal Luncheon.  Drinks provided.

Bring your favorite dish and enjoy exchanging recipes.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 1 PM –

Wacky Walkers.

A low impact walking class to excercise DVDs.

Need a little indoor exercise?   Would you like to make some new friends, or get together with old ones?  Want to keep that New Years resolution?

Then come on down and join us

for a little Wacky Walking at the Library!

When you check out the Library’s web-site, do you just read what’s on the front page, or do you check out some of the other pages?  Go to the buttons above, or to the text links on the left, and see what’s been updated  lately.  New information may not come daily, but many of these  pages are updated weekly and monthly.  We especially hope you’ll check out pages like the:  Book Clubs, Events, Friends, Meetings, Story Time and Newsletters.

IT’S HERE!   The Kansas eContent services are entering a new and exciting phase with the transition to the new Kansas EZ Library, featuring audiobooks from Recorded Books (OneClickDigital) and ebooks from the 3M Cloud Library service.

Have you tried the Kansas EZ Library yet?  If not,  you are missing out on lots of great items, including ebooks, audio books and more!  Go to  the lower right side of this Home page, under “eBooks and Audio Books”.  Look for the Library EZ Library Logo.  Then CLICK ON IT and see where it takes you.  You’re in for some FUN!

The Library’s “Book Discussion Group” will meet tonight at 6:00 PM.  We will be reviewing:

FALLEN by Karin Slaughter.

There’s no police training stronger than a cop’s instinct. Faith Mitchell’s mother isn’t answering her phone. Her front door is open. There’s a bloodstain above the knob. Her infant daughter is hidden in a shed behind the house. All that the Georgia Bureau of Investigations taught Faith Mitchell goes out the window when she charges into her mother’s house, gun drawn. She sees a man dead in the laundry room. She sees a hostage situation in the bedroom.  What she doesn’t see is her mother. When the hostage situation turns deadly, Faith is left with too many questions, not enough answers. To find her mother, she’ll need the help of her partner, Will Trent, and they’ll both need the help of trauma doctor Sara Linton. But Faith isn’t just a cop anymore—she’s a witness. She’s also a suspect.

So that our employees can enjoy their holiday too, the Library will be CLOSED from Saturday, Dec. 24th, through Monday, Dec. 26th.

We will be OPEN again, on Tuesday, Dec. 27th during our normal working hours.

Emma Collins has always believed that the world is divided into two kinds of people: those who love fruitcake – and those who don’t.  She’s firmly in the second category, so it’s ironic that her fist major assignment for the Puyallup, Washington Examer is a series of articles about . . . fruitcake!  Her task is to interview the finalists in a fruitcake recipe contest, and that means traveling around the state.

We hope that once in awhile, you will check out our other pages here on our web-site.  They do get changed some-what regulary, (please forgive us if we miss something once in awhile).  We will have more information and photographs added to them from time to time too.  Have you seen our”About US’, ”Friends” or “Book Club”  pages yet; or maybe the “Newsletters” or ”Area History” page?  How about our Events page?  What about the “City of Linwood”,  ”Library History”, “Services” or “Story Time” pages?   There’s usually something new going on in different areas,  from month to month, and sometimes week to week here at the Linwood Community Library.  So have a look around at all of our web pages, and see what might be coming your way soon. . .
